One original piece of music — about a page, for solo piano — written from your idea, plus the original handwritten manuscript: ink on manuscript paper, signed, dated, and dedicated to you. There's no second original.

Anything you'd want music to be about. A person, a memory, a place, a feeling, a story, a photograph, a line of poetry. It doesn't need to be musical and it doesn't need to be polished — a few sentences is plenty. The more specific it is, the better the piece tends to be.

Yes. Just give me the name of the person it's for and I'll dedicate it to them.

We'll talk before I write. Once you order, I'll email you about your idea and we'll make sure we're imagining the same thing. If it turns out I'm not the right composer for what you're after, I'll refund you in full any time before the session starts. After that, what comes out of the session is the piece — it's an artistic commission rather than a work for hire, so there are no revision rounds.

Yes, and I'd love that. I'll send you the session time once we've scheduled. If you can't make it, the whole session stays up afterward.

Yes, either or both. There's a yes/no at checkout for reading your idea out on stream, and if you'd rather stay anonymous entirely I'll leave your name off the dedication and off the stream.

I do. As with any composer, I retain the copyright along with publishing and performance rights — commissioning a piece doesn't make it a work for hire. What you own is the manuscript itself, yours to keep, frame, or pass down. Play it and record yourself playing it freely; just ask me first if it's going anywhere commercial. And while the manuscript is one of a kind, the music may be published, recorded, or performed later on. If that matters to you, tell me before you order.
